Steelers win AFC North title

The Pittsburgh Steelers clobbered the Cleveland Browns, 41-9, to win the AFC North division title and claim the second playoff seed in the AFC and a first-round bye.

“We’ve been saying for a couple weeks now that it’s playoff time, and now it really, really is,” Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “It’s good to get that bye, guys get a little rest, and playing at home is always a good thing.”

The Steelers got back safety Troy Polamalu from an Achilles injury, and he intercepted Colt McCoy(notes).

The Steelers raced out to a 31-3 halftime lead.

“We’ve had problems starting the games fast,” Polamalu said. “Obviously we had a really good start this game. It gets teams out of their game plan really fast and gives us more flexibility on defense as well as offense.”

“Boy! Mission accomplished for us,” Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said. “We came to Cleveland to claim the AFC North crown and we were able to get that done. We are excited about that.”

In football you can’t vote for mvp it takes the little things to make the whole team.

I sat in the first row of the dog (puppy) pound for this game. I was the only Steeler fan in the first row and survived. Of course Troys early interception to crush the hopes of the fans helped.
