Troy, thank you for sharing your Orthodox beliefs and experiences. I, too, am an Orthodox Christian. I was raised Catholic and went to church with my father, however, my mother was Russian Orthodox. After I married I converted to Orthodoxy , the faith and religion that fulfills my being. When I watch you play football on tv I always notice you praying and making the sign of the cross. It always brings a smile to my face. Welcome to Orthodoxy and May God Bless You and Your family.

Your humility shows on the field. It is very refreshing to see every Sunday. Moses was very humble and he saw God. James, John , and Peter saw our Lord transfigured. Some say it was because they were transfigured with humility that they saw Christ glorified. You have a beautiful family and hope your son follows in your footsteps. The steelers could use another safety , when you retire. lol My son especially likes when you cross yourself during the game.

There is definitly great value in struggle. I agree with you 100%! For children to watch their parents work and earn what they have is a great learning experience for them. It strenghthens moral values and teaches them humility. I try very hard to instill these lessons with my two sons and I’m proud to say that it’s beginning to show.
