UPDATE: Nominations are now closed. Thanks for your entries! Watch for winner announcement at the end of this month.
Hey teachers and professors, it’s time to start nominating your students for April student of the month. Hopefully you’re starting to get used to the regularity of this contest and are watching out for it each month. If you’ve nominated a student in the past and she or he hasn’t been selected, that doesn’t mean they don’t have a chance of being selected in future months, so I encourage you to continue submitting even if you’ve written in previously.
The instructions are the same as last month. Entries are open to all students, K through college. You must be a teacher, and the student you’re nominated must be from your class. Simply fill out the form below fully and completely before end of day, April 8th. Toward the end of the month I’ll recognize the winner with a post on this site, and as usual will award the highlighted student with a gift basket.
Look forward to your submissions!

Kerstyn has not only been a 4.0 student all year long but she has also been a school/ community leader. This month as student council VP,she has led a school-wide movement (Hoops for Health) to help our school’s fitness center. Leading up to a student faculty game, Kerstyn has helped organize and raise donations that will also contribute to new treadmills and weight equipment for our school.
In the past year, she has also volunteered and helped organize events at Passavant Homes, the Rochester Salvation Army, the Greater Pittsburgh Area Food Bank, Rochester Manor and Villa. Quite impressive for a young girl of her age!

Being a teacher from Pittsburgh and following Troy Polamalu since his college days, it is awesome to know that troy wants to someday be in a classroom and is trying to stay involved in the field of education by giving back. More players should do things like this for todays youth, its a once in a lifetime opportunity that a child will never forget. Hope my student can be the one!

Do you accept homeschooled students? I think it is great you are encouraging education.

Hello. I am a teacher in Warren Ohio. There are great things happening in my district; however, they all seem to be secret. I am very proud of the work and success going on at Harding High School. I invite you to come and visit. It would be a great honor for me and a huge thrill for my students.
