News / Troy Named AFC Defensive Player of Week

By Scott Brown
(via Pittsburgh Tribune-Review)

Steelers strong safety Troy Polamalu, whose interception set up the only touchdown in a 13-9 win at Cleveland, has been named AFC Defensive Player of the Week.

Polamalu also broke up three passes and dropped Browns quarterback for a loss after perfectly timing the snap from center and crashing through the line of scrimmage.

This marks the fifth time in his career that Polamalu has won the award.

    Dear Troy,
I am an 11 year old from Connecticut and I just want to tell you that I am a big fan. I have EVERY Steeler item you can imagine and those include your jerseys,Shirts,Fathead(which is my favorite) and many other items. I just wanted to say that being the daughter to a San Francisco and New York Jets Fan is not easy but I root for my favorite team (and player) every week. I wanted to say good luck and please be careful with your head during the playoffs. If you are evr in Connecticut doing an appearance I would love to have the oppurtunity to meet you.
    Signed your number 1 fan,
    Karly
