With the anticipation of the return of Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, the team never looked better. After a 9 1/2 month, 4 game suspension Roethlisberger threw three touchdowns making this 13th time in 14 games the Steelers have won against the Browns. They’re now #1 in the AFC North since Baltimore lost to New England in overtime. The Pittsburgh Steelers looked like themselves for the first time all season.
Going into this game the Steelers were 4-1, but lacking the flashing big-play ability Roethlisberger adds to the team. During the game he completed passes of 50 yards to Mike Wallace and 36 yards to Heath Miller on successive plays.
“One thing about him—when you look into his eyes, you always know you have a chance to win ballgames,” said Hines Ward, whose 8-yard TD catch ended a 96-yard drive that put Pittsburgh up 14-3 late in the third quarter. “And everybody just follows.”
The Steelers face the Miami Dolphins next week away in Miami. They need to win and keep their #1 spot, since the Ravens play the Bills.
